Garbage & Bulk Trash

The Village of Pomona has entered into an IMA with Rockland Green for garbage pickup services. All Garbage services will remain the same as they previously were.

When considering whether items are acceptable or not, please note that ANY items from commercial activities (home improvement, landscaping, etc) are NOT included in the acceptable item list. Sometimes your contractor will remove it for you, otherwise these items can only be removed by IWS at home-owner cost.

All trash, bulk, and recycling must be placed at the curb by 6:15 am on the pick-up day. Please consider the individuals picking up your garbage. The hours of pick up are between 6:15 AM and 6:00 PM.

Bulk items (anything other than normal household garbage as otherwise set forth below) are picked up on Thursday and must be placed at curb no earlier than 5 PM the day before pick up. BULK ITEMS NOT TO EXCEED 4 -5 ITEMS PER HOUSEHOLD PER BULK DAY

If there is no pickup on your garbage or recycling pickup day (on a holiday, for example), garbage will be collected the next day (or check the calendar posted on the Village Website).

All Recycling is done on Friday. Bins are to be left on the curb for recycling. No recycling bins may be placed at the curb prior to 5 PM on Thursday night.

Although there is no pickup for leaves, you can make special arrangements to have your leaves picked up if they are in bio-degradable bags at your curb for $6 per bag. Call IWS at (845) 572-3300 to make this arrangement. You can pick up free bio-degradable bags at Village Hall.
